Ferries and Ferry Companies Operating
(Sami, Kefalonia, Greece)

There are several companies operating ferry crossings from Sami, with the most popular route being the daily sailing from Sami to Ithaca and Patras.

Other popular crossings from Sami are two routes to the Italian mainland.

Strintzis Ferries

Strintzis Ferries operates a popular year-round daily service between Sami and Patras on the Greek mainland, with a convenient stop en-route at the island of Ithaca. The crossing to Ithaca takes around 1 hour, 30 minutes, while to Patras takes 2 hours, 30 minutes.

Strintzis Ferries operates a small fleet of ships, with the Ithaca / Patras route being serviced by the modern and well-equipped F/B Kefalonia. This large vehicle ferry offers passengers good facilities for the short journey, with comfortable seating, entertainment areas and a choice of eateries all available.

Maritime Way

Maritime Way operates the popular crossing from Sami to Brindisi on the Italian mainland, with regular sailings most days during the peak months and a much more limited schedule at other times. This route consists of an overnight sailing with a crossing time of around 12 hours.

Maritime Way operates a small fleet of ships, with the Sami to Brindisi route being operated by two vessels, the Elli T or the Erotokritos. Both ships offer excellent facilities for the overnight crossing, with a wide choice of comfortable cabins, entertainment areas and restaurants. The Erotokritos is the larger of the two vessels and can carry close to 1,000 passengers, with a lower deck space capable of carrying nearly 800 vehicles.

Agoudimos Lines

Another popular route to Italy is the Sami to Bari crossing operated by Agoudimos Lines. This route is in regular operation during the high season, with a more irregular timetable at other times of the year. The crossing from Sami to Bari is an overnight sailing taking around 15 hours.

Agoudimos Lines run a fleet of modern well-equipped vessels, with the Ionion Sky and the Ionion King operating on the Bari crossing.
